Following a turbulent meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump, Ukrainian President Zelenskyy has been facing pressure for his resignation, which he has turned down without hesitation. His refusal has resulted in deteriorating bilateral relations between Ukraine and the U.S.
Confrontation in the Oval Office
Concerned with the ongoing Russian- Ukrainian conflict, Presidents Trump and Zelenskyy had a meeting that took place in the White House on 28th February 2025. With the intention of providing further aid to Ukraine, the meeting quickly escalated when President Trump accused the Ukrainian president of being ungrateful for the aid given to him which has subsequently put the American citizens at risk of a third world war.
