History of World Day of Social Justice
The International Labour Organization (ILO) adopted the ILO Declaration on Social Justice for a Fair Globalization on June 10, 2008. This declaration, the third major statement of principles and policies by the ILO, builds upon earlier declarations, reflecting the contemporary vision of the organization's mandate in the globalization era. The General Assembly designated February 20 as the World Day of Social Justice, starting from its sixty-third session in 2007.
